Traditional and exquisite handcrafts of earrings making from Yi ethnic minority in Southwestern China, with natural dyed yarn and brass beads, took a whole afternoon to knot one pair of earrings. Natural dying and knotting are indispensable parts of traditional Yi ethnic minority people outfits, we want to support this valuable but vanishing knotting technique so we integrated this into jewelry. These kinds of earrings consist of forms of “hitching“: full hitch and two half hitches.
