In this 2 hour session, you will stitch together with Yiran to explore the beauty of slow stitching - sashiko.
You will learn the cultural background and history of sashiko in Japan and the practice in modern society. Then you will have four different sashiko patterns to stitch and practice, which including three small pieces (that can make into coaster) and one placemat.
You don't need to prepare any materials for yourself, all the materials for the workshop will be provided.

Sashiko, meaning ‘little stab’, is the Japanese art of stitching beautiful patterns using running stitch, often used to add decorative and/or reinforcement, texture & warmth to cloth or old garments. In this workshop, you will learn both the history & cultural background of sashiko, as well as learn all the basic techniques & principle of the embroidery style, so you will be able to continue your practice at home.

During this one day workshop, you will learn the cultural background of Bai shibori fom over 1000 years ago with indigo dyeing history, and you will start with 4 different technique of shibori stitching and create your own indigo dyed shibori scarf or bag inspired by the nature around you.

In this 3 hour session, you will learn traditional Bai embroidery techniques inspired by the rich textile culture of the Bai ethnic community in Yunnan, China. Together we will explore the patterns, colours and symbolic motifs commonly found in Bai garments and aprons.
During the workshop, we will introduce the cultural background and history of Bai embroidery, and guide you through several basic stitching techniques used in this tradition. Using the materials we provide, you will stitch your own Bai-inspired embroidery onto a 100% cotton T-shirt, creating a wearable piece that brings traditional craft into everyday clothing.
You don't need to prepare any materials for yourself. A 100% cotton short-sleeve T-shirt and all embroidery materials will be provided for the workshop. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone interested in learning traditional textile crafts.

Boro refers to a class of Japanese textiles that have been patched and mended over time. The word comes from boroboro, meaning tattered or repaired—celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the art of making things last.
In this three hours workshop, you’ll create your own one-of-a-kind Boro-style T-shirt using a mix of hand-dyed shibori fabric, traditional Japanese printed textiles, and sashiko fabrics. You’ll learn the basics of sashiko stitching, a decorative and functional embroidery technique used in Japan for centuries to reinforce and embellish textiles.

Indigo dyeing is one of the ancient dyeing method in the world. And China, Japan, India, Indonesia and Africa all has their traditional indigo dyed textiles.
During this weekend course indigo resist dyeing textile course, you will learn three different traditional resist dyeing method from China, which are stitch-resist dye 扎染, wax-resist dye 蜡染 and soy paste-resist dye 型糊染.
You will be able to learn all these traditional technique in first day session and pick one that you enjoy most to create a bigger project on the 2nd day session. You will also learn the history and cultural stories behind these crafts. You are welcome to bring your own project to dye and create during the session. We will provide some sample fabric, one square scarf and one t-shirt.

During this one day long 11am - 4pm workshop, you will learn the cultural background of traditional Chinese soy paste resist indigo textiles called Lan Yin Hua Bu 蓝印花布 with indigo dyeing history. You will learn how to make soy paste and try it out with our provided templets first, then you will be able to use templates to design your own wall hanging/scarf. We will have an hour lunch break from 1 pm - 2 pm, then we will dye our fabric from the morning, including a square scarf.

The Yi（彝）Tradition from Yunnan
These earrings brings heritage textiles from Yunnan into contemporary wearable form. Each pair incorporates hand-embroidered silk elements drawn from two distinct textile traditions of the region. One comes from the Nisu of northern Shiping, represented here by a camellia motif associated with love and romance, worked in fine split-thread embroidery. The other comes from the Lalo of eastern Weishan, where knot stitch and couched braid stitch are used to interpret pomegranate blossom and fire-motifs associated with prosperity and vitality.
The original embroidery is carefully sourced and reworked in our workshop in Yunnan in collaboration with artisans from Bai, Axi, Naxi, and Tai communities. Through a series of hand processes-including trimming, appliqué, brocade detailing, beadwork, and final assembly-older textile traditions are given a new scale and setting.
The result is a small contemporary object that retains the material richness and cultural resonance of the original embroidery while making it wearable in the present.
