Chinese paper-cut lantern making and calligraphy workshop is back to celebrate 2025 Year of Snake.
This workshop is at YICRAFTS studio 60 Neasden Ln, London, NW10 2UW.
During this one and half hour workshop, you will able to make Chinese paper-cut lanterns with calligraphy works back home with you to decorate your home for the LNY special occasion.
The art of paper cutting in China may date back to the 2nd century CE. Usually, the artworks are made of red paper, as red is associated with festivities and happiness in Chinese culture, but other colours are also used. Normally cut-paper artwork is used on festivals such as Chinese New Year, weddings and childbirth, as cut-paper artwork is considered to symbolise luck and happiness.
