For the new year, YiCrafts has specially designed a Jiama woodblock printed calendar, saturating the year with well wishes. The calendar is printed in red — a colour that symbolises good fortune and prosperity in Chinese cultures. Surrounding the dates are traditional prints used by several ethnic minorities in Yunnan for prayer and as talismans. The definitions of the prayers range from wishing good health and wealth for the family to preventing hair loss.

Uniquely, the 12 different months have also taken their traditional Chinese names which had been inspired by the changing seasons and their respective natural elements. Not only does the calendar bear good meanings, it also offers a gateway to the Chinese cosmology through its perspective for time.

Further, thanks to the monochromic design of the calendar, you will also find abundant room to colour in and design the piece yourself. Purchase below and make this a practical and collaborative project with your loved ones!
