Diamond lantern making with floral handmade paper
This workshop is at YICRAFTS studio 60 Neasden Ln, London, NW10 2UW.
Traditionally, the lantern has been used to lighting , and functioned mainly as a toy and decoration to create a festive atmosphere. But today the lantern has come to symbolize the festival itself. In the old days, lanterns were made in the image of natural things, myths, and local cultures. Over time, a greater variety of lanterns could be found as local cultures became influenced by their neighbors.
This is a geometric diamond shape, framed with wooden or bamboo sticks, and adorned with delicate floral handmade paper lantern, inspired by traditional Chinese lantern design, this handcrafted lantern uses floral handmade paper for a beautiful, soft glow. The perfect combination of tradition and modern living.
