Boro T-shirt workshop
Boro T-shirt workshop
Boro refers to a class of Japanese textiles that have been patched and mended over time. The word comes from boroboro, meaning tattered or repaired—celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the art of making things last.
In this one day workshop, you’ll create your own one-of-a-kind Boro-style T-shirt using a mix of hand-dyed shibori fabric, traditional Japanese printed textiles, and sashiko fabrics. You’ll learn the basics of sashiko stitching, a decorative and functional embroidery technique used in Japan for centuries to reinforce and embellish textiles.
We’re proud to be working with End of More, an organic T-shirt brand committed to sustainable fashion. Every participant will receive a high-quality organic cotton T-shirt in their chosen size.
What’s included:
One organic cotton T-shirt (size of your choice)
A carefully curated mix of fabric patches (shibori-dyed, Japanese printed, and sashiko fabric)
Sashiko templates to guide your design and layout
One skein of sashiko thread
One sashiko needle
By the end of the session, you'll take home a personalised T-shirt stitched with your own hands—a piece that tells a story and promotes a slower, more mindful approach to fashion.
Perfect for anyone interested in textiles, visible mending, sustainable fashion, or simply trying something new.
