Indigo Shibori Dyed Noren Curtain – Circular Motif

£68.00

Noren (暖簾) are traditional Japanese fabric dividers used in doorways, windows, or interior spaces to softly define areas while allowing light and movement to pass through.

This Noren features a repeating circular geometric motif, created through traditional shibori resist-dyeing techniques. The circles appear in a soft indigo-white contrast against a deep indigo background, revealing delicate, organic line patterns formed naturally during the dyeing process. Each circle carries subtle variations, highlighting the hand-crafted nature of the piece.

The vertical slit through the centre interacts with the design, dividing the central motif and creating a gentle visual shift as the curtain moves. The overall composition feels calm, balanced, and contemporary, blending traditional Japanese textile techniques with a modern, minimal aesthetic.

Hand stitched and hand dyed in a natural indigo vat.
